Hello Sandy,

regarding the issue with creating or editing connections in SAP GUI for Java 7.30 rev.4 please refer to SAP note 1918326 for an explanation and workaround.

For info on Workflow Builder in SAP GUI for Java, see SAP note 1020936.

Please use one of the alternate options.

Hi Rolf,

From SAP note 1918326,

  • If you do not use a centrally managed configuration then you will have to create an empty text file and enter the full path to that file into the "Routers" and the "Messageservers" text fields in SAP GUI for Java's configuration. To do that open SAP GUI for Java's "Preferences" dialog, navigate to section "Configuration" -> "Logon" and then enter the path into both the "Routers" and the "Messageservers" text fields.

I don't have any path. What should I enter in "Routers" and "Messageservers" section?

Hello Sandy,

as an example:

assuming that you put the files msgserver.txt and router.txt in folder /Users/username/Library/Preferences/SAP/, you can enter

file:///Users/username/Library/Preferences/SAP/msgserver.txt and

file:///Users/username/Library/Preferences/SAP/router.txt

Hi Rolf,

I never use file msgserver.txt and router.txt before. And I could not find folder /Users/username/Library/Preferences/SAP/

Could you elaborate, please?

I am on OS X 10.8.5.

Thanks,

Sandy

Hello Sandy,

apologizes, I forgot to mention, that you need to replace the substring "username" with the user name, you type in, when logging in OS X.

So e.g., in case your user name is sandy, it would be

/Users/sandy/Library/Preferences/SAP/

Hi Rolf,

I could not find library folder under my user id.

The only /library folder that I can found is under my hard drive. Inside this library folder has few folders such as Java, iTunes, Filesystem, etc. But I could not found folder SAP. For sure I have full access to my MacBook Pro.

Hi Rolf,

I found /Library/Preferences/SAP

And I put an empty file called msgserver.txt and an empty calledrouter.txt.

Restarted my MacBook Pro. Unfortunately I could not create new connection nor change existing connection

Hello Sandy,

did you also specify those files in SAP GUI for Java's "Preferences" dialog, section "Configuration" -> "Logon" in the "Routers" and the "Messageservers" text fields using fully qualified names?
