Strange exception during auto-importing Excel files

Hi experts!

I have a very strange exception during auto-import with Import Server. I've made a map file for Excel import, configured an import port and put an Excel file into its folder "Ready". In a few seconds a structural exception appeares. I try to handle it with Import Manager but the status is "Ready to import" and after clicking "Execute Import" the data is imported successfully! So what's wrong, why isn't it imported automatically?

The problem occurs with all Excel files, and xml files are imported fine.

The version is 7.1

Help me, please!

Thank you in advance

Sasha

Hi Alex,

Please check the reports in console and let me know the error that is captured in reports so that we can analyse further.

Hi Vinoth!

Oh, really, I didn't guess to look at Reports, thank you!!

What I found there:

"Error: [MDS=ETLMDM Repository=EPK ClientSystem=337 Port=YUR_STRUCT_IMP]: MS Excel is not supported on x64 platform.

Error: MS Excel is not supported on x64 platform."

It's a great pity...

Do you think there's nothing to do with this?

Hi Mohan!

Tell me, please, how to get the note? Tried to follow the link http://scn.sap.com/thread/1009016, but it doesn't look similar to our theme... Than I found this topic (quite similar to mine!): http://scn.sap.com/thread/1699119 and tried to follow the link in it for Note 1009016, but recieved an error 403 =(

Thank you, Vinoth!

OK, I see, MDIS doesn't import Excel - so, we'll work with xml files instead 🙂
