SAP Integration using SAP Archivelink to HP TRIM

Hi Experts,

Can Experts please advice the steps required to store and retrieve Accounts Payable Invoice Images from and to HP TRIM or any other content repository system?

Is it true that documents can only be stored and not retrieved from TRIM through SAP Archivelink? Does Archivelink allow only one way traffic?

Can we use a single TRIM license with Guest Gateway to store and retrieve images from TRIM using SAP Archivelink from multiple SAP locations.

Is there another middleware required between SAP Archivelink and TRIM?

Thankyou heaps for answering my queries in advance.

Hi Tasneem,

I do not have much knowledge on HP TRIM but as I have worked with other content servers like SAP Content Server, Open Text etc all these products support storing and retrieving of images via archive link. You may need to perform basic configuration using OAC0, OAC2 , OAC3 tcodes in SAP system and connect to your content server which in your case should be HP TRIM.

So the archive link communication is two ways .

Hope this helps.

We at iCognition are Information Management Specialists, have developed a middle-ware to help organisations integrate SAP and HP TRIM, or any business application with HP TRIM for that matter.

Thank you guys for responding -

SAP Archivelink does a two way communication of writing and reading from TRIM.

But just for the benefit of future readers - standard SAP Archivelink solution does not write back meta data from the Content Server into SAP when the document is retrieved.

Therefore, writing back metadata from content server into SAP, if required needs a development.

Thank you again and appreciate your response.

I believe archive link stores meta data in sap database tables you can check the link tables TOA01.

This meat data is written while storing the files but not during retrieval.

As deepak said Archive link is a two way communication , you can store and retrieve the documents.

In sap you have to configure few basic steps to store documents into the storage server,

OAC0 - content repositories

OAC2 and OAC3 - Document types.
