Hello,
I´m doing an upgrade to our BW system, during the Preprocessing phase the SAPup tool stopped with the following error:
Checks after phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG were negative!
Last error code set: Detected 69 errors summarizes in 'ACTUPG.ELG' Check
logfiles 'ACTUPG.ELG' and 'E:\usr\sap\BWD\upg\abap\log\SAPup.ECO'
I checked the ACTUPG.ELG and SAPup.ECO files and in there I found some error during the activation of some Data Elements!

I searched for a solution and I found the following thread but it doesn't help me much: http://scn.sap.com/thread/1927760
I sent to you attached to this message the log files ACTUPG.ELG and SAPup.ECO!
Can you please help me? How can I solve this problem?
Kind regards,
samid
Hello
Did you try activating them from SE11 ?

Hello,
Yes, I tried!
That activation is not possible... I tried to change, I did the log in with an user (not the DDIC) in SE11, I tried with each of data elements that is mentioned in log file ACTUPG.ELG, I selected the data type, Change button, I selected the tab Further Characteristics but when I tried to edit/delete the contents inside the "Name" and "Parameters" field it doesn´t allowed me! They are disabled, I can´t delete
them like is mentioned in following thread:
http://scn.sap.com/thread/1927760
This is what I think is necessary to correct this problem:
1. Log on to the shadow system with any user apart from DDIC to make object modifications.
2. Go to transaction SE11
3. Select Data Type and provide the name of the data element as mentioned in the ACTUPG.ELG log
4. Click on Change
5. Select the tab Further Characteristics
6.Delete the contents inside the "Name" and "Parameters" field in the section "Search Help"
7. Save the object
8. Activate the object.
Any tips?
regards,
samid
Similar solution is mentioned here as well.

You may try that.

Hello samid,
You need to do the following:
1) unlock the shadow instance;
2) Log on in client 000 (not with DDIC user);
3) Check the settings of client 000 in SCC4 (set it to "Automatic recording of changes");
4) Check the system settings in SE06 (set it to "Modifiable");
5) Go to tcode SE11;
6) Enter data type name and change;
7) Click "Change";
😎 Select the tab Further Characteristics;
9) Select "Name" field;
10) Click on change subobject icon;
11) Clear "Parameters" field as well;
12) Delete the contents inside the "Name" and "Parameters" field in the section "Search Help";
13) Save the object
Note: Do not activate the object, just save after changes.
14) Repeat same steps for other data types;
15) Revert the client settings and software component to not modifiable;
16) Lock shadow instance;
17) Repeat the upgrade phase.
Best regards,
João Dimas
