For Rush Order to be entertained is it mandatory that the order has to be executed within 24 hours?

If it is executed the next day, can it be called as Rush Order?

Is it left to us to decide?

Await your advice.

The functionality of Rush Order is that the delivery is created in background as soon as you save the order.

However, untiull & unless you do the picking & PGI, the material will not be despatched in the system. Hence you can certainly postpone the delivery.

Hi

As soon as you save rush order, delivery will be created automatically, because of the field "immediate delivery" in the functionality of rush order document type. Picking and PGI may be done at later. So there is no point of waiting for 24hrs.

award points if this information is useful.

Hi Adiraj,

Rush order is one of the business scenario which canbe mapped in sap using the Document type RO. In general rush order is created when the customer wants the material to be delivered more urgently than the normal deliveries.

It depends on the business process where you are using this rush order in some transactions rush order can mean 3-4 days and for some it can mean same day / next day. it varies from company to company and business to business. there is no hard and fast rule

In a rush order transaction, the customer picks up the goods or you deliver the goods on the same day as the order is placed.

In the standard system, when you save this sales document type, a delivery is automatically created and billing is related to the delivery.

Hi Adiraj,

Rush order is one of the varieties of sales document type where the scenario is like the customer picks of goods immediately on the day the order is placed and billing might occur afterwards, may be a collective process triggered by a batch job. The rush order is configured to have an immediate delivery as the " Immediate delivery " check box is ticked in the document controls. So, its the system which creates an immediate delivery. Hence no question of 24 hrs later on the order getting executed ( if you meant executed as delivered ). But say we remove the indicator for immediate delivery then it is no more a rush order.

Hope this clarifies. Please reward if useful.

Thanks & Regards
