How to recover from snapshot backup.

Hi,

We are having our SAP R3 Prod server on linux with Oracle database.

As per the suggestions from our infrastructure team, we are taking snapshot backup as our DB offline/online backup takes a lot of time to complete.

Please suggest how can we recover the database if we have a snapshot backup in place. Also, what is the procedure to apply archive logs in this scenario after a snapshot recovery is done.

Hi Shanahas,

when you create the snapshot are the oracle tablespaces in hot backup mode?

If yes normally you can start recovery with your offline/online Logs to get a consistent database.
