Hi,
I am working on PI 7.0 SP18 on a scenario where I need to check for duplicate numbers, for this I have a RFC which looks up a file and checks if the number is present in file, if yes then it returns value false, if it is not present then the code updates the value and returns the value true.
When I test my RFC in ABAP stack, it works fine and gives me desired results.
I have imported this RFC in IR and have written the udf code for fetching the return value along with the import parameters, the Business system and Receiver Communication Channel, all of which is created and activated. However, when I test my Mapping, it is not returning any value from the RFC but it is updating new values in the File lookup, which means that the RFC is called but the return value is lost in between.
I want to troubleshoot on where/what configurations I have missed that I am unable to get my return value in the mapping in IR.
Below are the docs I have followed to create the scenario:
http://saptechnical.com/Tutorials/XI/RFCLookup/Page3.htm
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/User-defined+Mapping+Function+for+RFC+Lookup?bc=true
Any help/Lead will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Ridhima
pls check if u have written in your custom code, the logic of processing the output parameters of the RFC you are calling. also check if the logic of response fields is getting invoked as needed.

Hi Ridhima,
Please take a look at the link below:
You can also try putting the external breakpoint in the target system. Change the login credentials of the RFC adapter to use the same user. This is a common way to debug the RFC.
Hope it helps!

Hello Ridhima,
you could use "XPI Inspector" (SAP note 1514898) to see the RFC request and hopefully the RFC response.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Gagandeep,
I checked in RWB Monitoring for the receiver RFC Adapter, it says ' RFC Adapter received a synchronous message, attempting to end via <RFC Name>'.
In MONI, when i check after request message mapping, shows blank value next to the field where result should come.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Ridhima
