I need to provide a document urgently to the client on how SAP ITS handles multiple device log ins from RF devices. It is required to show how the load balancing is handled by SAP ITS mobile as a part of risk management.

Please provide me any documents or links on SAP Integrated ITS for mobile.

Hi Gautam,

The SAP recommendation would be to use the SAP Web Dispatcher

Here is a good starting point on the SAP Web Dispatcher

As of now the client will require 14 RF devices  in the warehouse. Please let me know the advantages of using WEB dispatcher and not.

On what scenarios can we go ahead without using sap web dispatcher. The RF scanner devices will be working online.

Hi Cuautam,

Other option is to use the Message Server instead of the SAP Web Dispatcher

See:
Monitoring and Administration of the SAP Message Server http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/40/c235c15ab7468bb31599cc759179ef/frameset.htm

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/40/c235c15ab7468bb31599cc759179ef/frameset.htm

and

HTTP Load Distribution Using SAP Message Server

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/28/75153a1a5b4c2de10000000a114084/frameset.htm

to compare with features of the SAP Web Dispatcher as per previous thread reply.

hi Oisin.

1. One last question. we can use load balancing option only if we have multiple Instances of web server. Am I correct?

2. I will be creating SICF service under path default_host-sap-bc-gui-sap-its-ZITS_RF.

ZITS_RF is created against an internet service and has html templates from module Pool. There is an option in SICF under service data as load balancing. Is it possible to use this option ?

3. Do I need to do anything separately apart from this.

we do not have sap web dispatcher as of now.

Hello Gautam,

1 - Yes you are correct

2 - Yes it is - re loadbalancing option in SICF this depends on your setup as per question 1

3 - NO

If you only have 14 user's I do not see any issue with one Netweaver server handling the requests.

Failover is the main reason for introducing loadbalancing (i.e if the one Netweaver server that is being used should go down for whatever reason)

Oisin
