Deletion batch job

Hi ,

Coud you please advise how significant is the client in the batch job

SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_XXX

XXX is not the right client , would the deletion not happen ?

Hi Anusha,

Go to transaction SARA and use object BC_XMB. That is the starting point for archiving messages, passing through the PI monitor.

Job SAP_BC_XMB_DELETE_XXX is just part of this archiving concept and of course, you need to replace xxx with you SAP PI client (default = 001).

if my client is 100 and job is named with default value of 001 , would the deletion job work ?

It's just a job name, proposed by the system once you customize the archiving.

You can keep that name or change it, but I propose to keep the name suggested by SAP.

In documentation or help, the standard name always returns and then you know what job is involved.

AFAIK, this job won't run if you give the wrong client.
