I have configure and RFC connection to an external server in Transaction code:SM59. The connection type is G as required for external servers.

the connection test has been successful.

Can this be used for data archiving purposes if so then any guidelines for that??

Can this connenction be used for content repositories using RFC archive option??

Hi Arif,

I assume you are asking this question with regards to storing of archive data on external content server.

As I know, connection type to use with archiving will be T; i.e when using RFC for communication. RFC based Archivelink works on RFC call back mechanism.

If you are planning to use HTTP content server, usually you dont need to configure an RFC connection. Configure content repository using OAC0 and give the content server details there. I guess you can get more details from the content server provider.

Hope this helps.
