Hi Experts,
I've got a problem with my SAP Gui 730 installation on Windows 8 64-Bit. Installation of SAP Gui went well without any errors. I am able to connect succesfully to the SAP server. But after a while I loose my connection with following error.
Does anybody have an idea how I can fix this?
I can definitely exclude following things:
- It is not a problem with the SAP system itself, because on my other computer with Windows 7 64-Bit there is no such problem.
- It is not a firewall problem. No firewalls are active.
My configuration is:
- Windows 8 64-Bit
- SAP GUI 730 PL4
- Java Build 1.7.0_40-b43
I would be grateful for any tip.
Thanks a lot,
ismail
I think it is a problem with the "Secure Application Manager" we use to establish a VPN to our system.
Did somebody experienced issues with Secure Application Manager and Windows 8?
Or any VPN and Windows 8?
Thnx

This is a network issue Ismail, not a SAPGUI one.
A SAGui error will involve the gui disconnecting without such error messages,it will just
disappear.
A network issue will show an error popup from the GUI because the gui is still working and able to
communicate with the backend.
A NIPING trace will help assist you finding the issue.

Please check the Power Options on Windows 8.(HD turn off time, sleep time, and so on...)

Hi Ismail,
I would recommend you install core patch 6 for SAP GUI 7.30. it was released on 9/30/2013. Then go to
https://www.service.sap.com/swdc -> Support Packages and Patches -> A - Z
Index -> "S" -> SL Toolset -> SL Toolset 1.0 -> Entry By Components -> SAPSetup
SAPSETUP-> SAPSETUP 9.0-> Support Package Patches -> Windows Server IA32 bit and grab patch 38 for SAPSetup.exe
After that try your connection again.
Cheers,
Dan Mead
