Hi All,
we do not have delivery block set in schedule line category config. So while creating sales order, the schedule line block does not get set.
But we have a requirement that a user should be able to enter the schedule line block while creating sales order.
1) why it is necessary to enter the schedule line block when the schedule line is confirmed in sales order ? what difference would it make by entering a schd line block after getting confirmed schedule lines ?
2) What is the purpose of entering the schd line block, if qty is not confirmed in sales order ?
regards
Pamela
in both the cases it will prevent delivery from order

Pamela,
Two points (difference between delivery block at header and schedule line level, in the sales order) -
1. Block set at different levels (of a sales order):
The delivery block can be set at header level, in a sales order. This would block the entire sales order (all the line items and all the schedule lines). No delivery will be created.
When the delivery block is set at schedule line level, in a asales order, only that schedule line shall be block for delivery creation.
Suppose the sales order has 2 line item, one of the line items has a delivery block at schedule line level, then for that line item only delivery can not be created.
For the other line item, delivery can be created.
2. Confirmation block:
In a delivery block, one of the fields is "Confirmation block".
When this is activated, then -
- when the delivery block is set at header level, the confirmed qty shall be zero.
- but when this delivery block is set at schedule line level, the confirmed qty shall not be zero (subject to availability check etc.)
