java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.ide.metamodel.webdynpro.component.controller.Controller.getEventHandlers() of an object loaded from field com.sap.ide.webdynpro.controllereditor.eventhandlers.EventHandlerSubObjectData.mController of an object loaded from local variable 'this' .

Try to track the navigation and include try catch in the methods involving navigation to catch the message and the point at which it is raised.

I doubt that the issue is related to eclipse.

To track, just print messages and follow the usual debug process. Also, find the places where  element/variables can be null and perform the check: null != element/variable.

Also, check if the plugs are mapped in the Window-view editor.
