Auto Scheduling for Planned orders

We are unable to get the finish dates in the planned order unless we schedule it manually.  How can we configure the planned order to be scheduled automatically as soon as they are created?  Our sales orders are allocation via APO and planned orders need to be scheduled right away.

In OPU5, "Scheduling" and "generate capacity requirements" are checked under the "Detailed scheduling" section. In the "Adjust Scheduling" section, we have selected "via detailed scheduling" also.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Awais,

Are you planned orders being created in APO or in ECC?

Hi DB49,

we are implementing SCM APO and planned orders are created in APO and sent to ECC also.

Thanks,

Awais,

In general, scheduling is usually done for such orders within APO.  All scheduled dates should thereafter appear in R/3 after the orders arrive there.  Unless there is a specific need, it is not really a good idea to have both systems try to perform scheduling, it can give you some unexpected results at times.

When you say you cannot get finish dates, I find this puzzling.  The one thing that most planned order have is a finish date.  Can you show a screen shot of your R/3 MD13 for one of these defective orders?

I assume you are creating these orders during your APO planning run.  What Strategy Profile are you using during Planning?  If you are also creating these orders manually within APO, you also should look at the strategy profile assigned to the transaction(s) you are using (e.g.  //RRP3, //RRP4, etc etc).

The orders are created when APO is called.  We use a Z strategy profile in SCM.  what setting in particular did you want to check?

thanks!

Awais,

The orders are created when APO is called.

???  Does that mean you are using some automatic planning procedure, such as "3" or similar?  Have the the orders actually been scheduled in APO?

Hi Vicente,

As per my understanding, the production dates are 'scheduled' dates. Since in your case, the order is scheduled in APO, but not in ECC lead time scheduling, you will not get the production dates updated in ECC planned order. If you want to see the schedule dates, you have to see the APO planned orders.

Once you convert the planned order to production order, you will see all the scheduled dates in ECC production order.
