Subcontracting at 2 locations - Same product and same vendor

Hi

We have a business requirement where we need to set up subcontracting

scenario for 2 Distribution centers.

These 2 DCs will get the Same product from 1 vendor.

e.g. DC1 and DC2 will get product X from Vendor ABC

We already using subcontracting for single DC

Now when we set up the relevant master data for 2nd DC and ran

heuristics then system gives following error so we can’t execute

heuristics.

Parallel process cancelled with error: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR"

raised.

Message no. /SAPAPO/SDP_PAR022

I read some of the help from SAP documentation and realized that this

can be possible through ‘Location Type Subcontractor ‘

As per the instructions, I set up all the data but got stuck with

issues.

As created 2 locations with types as Subcontractor (1050) and assigned

relevant DC and vendors to it.

From here, what I need to do next to execute planning?

Do I need to run planning at These locations or at DC level?

Hii Yogesh,

You need to create a Subcontracting location (Location Type 1050 ), which will assigned to the corresponding vendor. Then Assign the Location to Live Cache.

Follow the same master data set up as you do for normal sub contracting in ECC side.

Run SNP heuristic at  DC location for the main material as well as you need  to add one more step of SNP heuristic at subcontracting location as well for generating receipts for components.

I set up the scenario as mentioned in SAP help,

Created new location with type 1050

Assigned DC and vendor to it

Set up master data (PDS, Purchase Infor record, TL etc.) same as we set up for subcontracting scenario.

From here actually I need guidance as how to proceed, i tried to run heuristics at DC level, subcontractor and 1050 location as well but not getting expected results.

Please guide as how to proceed, at which level do we need to run heurisitcs and do we need to maintain any additional master data for 1050 location? like pDS or T lane or anything?

Also, as you mentioned, assign 1050 location to Live cache, do you mean assing to model or something else?

Hi Yogesh,

The error, I think, is becaus of parallel processing. I don't know how did you execute the heuristic, but there must be a parallel processing profile set. You should first remote parallel processing and test the scenario. If it works find without parallel, then we can check further why parallel processing does not work.

I  ran the heuristics with and without parallel processing profile, I think issue here is related to subcontracting set up at 2 DC locations for same product/same vendor.

Please guide if you have come across such scenario.
