Infotype 0302 to be active in the customizing for SAP P & F

Hi experts!

We have a doubt regarding the first steps for implementing the SAP HR P & F in our system.

It´s about infotype 0302 activation in the system.

What exactly happens with this infotype?, it is mandatory to be active in our system? At least, is what we are reading in SAP P & F documentation:

"Technical Prerequisites:

To be able to use the processes, the Additional Actions infotype (0302) must be actively used in your ERP system.

To activate the Additional Actions infotype and to create the corresponding infotype records for your employees, see Customizing for Personnel Administration and choose the Activation ‘Additional Actions’ step in Customizing Procedures → Actions → Set Up Personnel Action Types."

So please, can anyone of you provide us some more information, or some clarifications about the use of Infotype 302?

Hi Carles,

Infotype 302 is used to Log all the Personnel Actions performed for an employee on a specific date.

It is used in case when you run multiple actions for the same date on an employee.
eg: Hiring an employee and then Transferring him on the same day, etc.

If you do this then in Infotype 0000 only one record can be saved as it is time constraint 1 and the start date for both the actions is the same.

Thus to keep the records of both the Actions Infotype 0302 is used.
Once activated it will keep a log of all the Personnel Actions done on the Employee.

Infotype 302 cannot be maintained manually.

Thank you very much for your help & support Sahir/Mayank, now we have it very clear. We will talk with our customer, if the activation of inf.302 is needed or not is his system.

As Mayank stated above - IT0032 comes into picture only when you are building a process that has to do with an action .i.e. you are setting massn and massg fields and when there are multiple actions run on the same day. If the process you are no building is not related to actions - I feel there is no need to worry about it.
