SNP Heuristic

Hi, there.

We are trying to setting up SNP heuristic with next chain:

Vendor -> Location1-> Location 2.

We have created all needed MD and SNP heuristic creates
stock transfers. In planning receipt date at Location2 SNP doesn’t take
into account replenishment time from Vendor to Location1.

Example: Today is 30.09.2013. We have demand  and zero
stock at Location2. SNP creates STR from Location1 to Location2 with dates
01.10.2013 and 19.10.2013 (18 days – RLT between locations). Also it creates
STR from Vendor to Location1 01.10.2013 and 30.10.2013 (30 days – RLT between
Vendor and Location1). The fact is STR from Location1 to Location2 is overdue.
Can SNP create STR to Location2 considering RTL between Vendor and Location1?

Thanks!

Hi,

SNP will not work as expected, because SNP is bucket based planning instead of order based planning. SNP planning will follow low level code, which means it will first plan location 2, then location 1. In the planning of location 1, it will not consider location 2 any more. I think for your requirement, CTM should be a good choice.

But if you would like to use SNP heuristic, you can also set "planned delivery time" or "SNP stock transfer hohrizon" (in product master /sapapo/mat1) for the product in location 2, as the period from vendor to location 1 plus the period from location 2 to location 1 (in your case, 48 days). By this setting, planned STR to location 2 will always be created at the earliest 48 days later from today, so that you have enough time to plan location 1.

Best Regards,

Ada
