Registered server program in SAP PI 7.1

I have a scenario in which ECC sends IDOCs to Siebel.

At receiver side i am using IDOC communication channel by providing the required parameters (rfc connection details along with port).

In PI i have created rfc connection to siebel of connection type TCP/IP with registered server program.

I have gone through the transaction SMGW & can able to see the registered server program with Host details of third party server.

Please provide some inputs on this how registered server program will works and data gets transfered to server.

Thanks

Anil kumar

Hello Anil,

Idoc receiver should be type 3 and not type T.

I don't think so. We have also external adapter connected (not Siebel) with registered program and we also use a rfc connection type T and it works perfect.

The listener program (external) needs to be running, otherwise the messages get stuck in the queue (SM58).

If the program is running then it just behaves like an RFC connection to SAP.

Hi Peter

It seems to be PI has connected with external server with registered server program using rfc connection of type T.
