Hi,
If in schedule line, I switch off the availability check and switch on the TOR. what does it mean functionally. Can some one explain by example as to what impact we can see !
1) will the backward and forward scheduling happen if ATP check is switch off ?
2) What other impact will have functionaly on switching off the avalability check
3) How will the schedule lines get confirmed since ATP check will not happen (opening stock+receipts -issues ) ?
regards
Pamela
Hi Pamela,
If in schedule line, I switch off the availability check and switch on the TOR. what does it mean functionally.
Example : Mat A Order quantity is 1000 PC and available quantity is 10 PC. But if at schedule line level if Availability check is off then system will confirm all 1000 PC.
1) will the backward and forward scheduling happen if ATP check is switch off ?
2) What other impact will have functionaly on switching off the avalability check
3) How will the schedule lines get confirmed since ATP check will not happen (opening stock+receipts -issues ) ?

Pamela,
3) How will the schedule lines get confirmed since ATP check will not happen (opening stock+receipts -issues ) ?
The value populating in "Confirmed qty" at the schedule line level, in a sales order - is a result / outcome.
The system can check availability or not check availability, and then populate the value in field "Confirmed qty".
If the setting is to deactivate availability check, then the qty to be delivery (order qty) is automatically set as the confirmed qty, even if there is no stock in that plant and storage location.
Examples -
1. For serivce items, the availability check is deactivated (not considered).
Repair of TVs, even if there is zero qty in the plant and storage location, the confirmed qty shall be equal to the order qty.
2. In a business where lots of stock is stored and there is never a situation of non-availability of stock.
Always there shall be 2 months of stock (Laptops) in the plant, then no need to do an availability check.

Dear,
Even if uncheck AV in VOV6 AV will be carried out because system will give you preference for AV in requirement class level instead of VOV6 level. If AV is carrying out then you will find out at sales order level in which date you issued and how much you had like all details and one more thing is you can this AV details in MD04 and CO09 but if AV is not carrying then you can not see these details in that transactions.
In Requirement Class ,If you switch of the TOR with switched on availability then you will get one error. Please check in your system also.
Let me know ,your understanding on below query.
What is AV and TOR ? what is exactly difference ?
Up to me ,No ,it wont happen .
You cant see day to day activities of material in sales order level as well as in MD04 and CO09. AV is very nice tool in SAP to see material details especially in sales order level.
Not getting ,provide small example on this if possible.
If you stock then it will be confirmed at sales order level when AV is off if not ,no confirmation .
Kindly ,let me know if you want any further help on this.
Thanks,
Naren

Narendra,
Even if uncheck AV in VOV6 AV will be carried out because system will give you preference for AV in requirement class level instead of VOV6 level.
The above is incorrect!
If in the schedule line category, field AVC is deactivated, then in that sales order the availability check shall not happen.
Same logic for TOR also.
If in requirement class AVC and TOR are deactivated, then the settings of the same in the schedule line category do not matter. Both AVC and TOR shall not happen (at sales order level).
Hello Pamela,
Would it not be a good idea to try the above case in your Development server yourself?
Thanks,
