Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage (SAP NW CE 7.2)

Hello,

I just finished an installation of SAP Netweaver Composition Environment 7.2 (SAP NW CE 7.2) - Java (Windows Server 2008 (R2) with SQL Server 2008 (R2))

I´m logged on in the server where I installed it and when I try to access to Netweaver Administrator (http://sapwd01ce:50000/nwa) I don´t have connection... I don´t know why!

The internet explorer (I.E.8) show me the following message:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

(you can see the printscreen of it here: http://imageshack.us/a/img842/9039/5rjl.jpg)

I checked some log files, for instance the dev_icm log file and in there I see the following lines (I don´t know if this is related with something about this error or not):

...

Hello Sunny,

I checked if the default profile of my system has the parameter set icm/HTTP/mod_0 = PREFIX=/,FILE=$(DIR_GLOBAL)/security/data/icm_filter_rules.txt

And yes, it already has that parameter!

How can I check the parameters like DIR_GLOBAL? How can I know the output of DIR_GLOBAL parameter?

The icm_filter_rules.txt file contains the following lines:

# ICM Rewrite Rules for NWA (restrict access to local host)

if %{REMOTE_ADDR} !stricmp 127.0.0.1 [AND]

if %{REMOTE_ADDR} !stricmp ::1

RegIRedirectUrl ^/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tc~lm~itsam~ui~mainframe~wd/.*$ /nwa/remote_access_error [QSA]

Any tip?

Kind regards,

samid

Hi Samid,

How can I check the parameters like DIR_GLOBAL? How can I know the output of DIR_GLOBAL parameter?

You can check out the value from the transaction al11.

Also, please check whether the following parameters are set.

  1. icm/host_name_full
  2. icm/server_port_0

Also, append the following lines in the icm_filter_rules.txt file.

if %{REMOTE_ADDR} !regimatch *.*.*.*

RegIRedirectUrl ^/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tc~lm~itsam~ui~mainframe~wd/(.)*$ /nwa/remote_access_error [QSA]

Note: Replace *.*.*.* with the ip address from which you would like to access NWA.

If you Use *.*.*.*, you can access NWA from all the systems! Careful!

Hello Abhishek,

You said:

You can check out the value from the transaction al11.

But how can I do that... I believe I only did an installation of a Java instance! Can you confirm it?

Look at the following images please, this is what I selected in installation wizard (SWPM):

So, how can I check the parameters like DIR_GLOBAL? How can I know the output of DIR_GLOBAL parameter?

Kind regards,

samid

DIR_GLOBAL is standard parameter which you can check in profile file. It's value is /sapmnt/<SID>/global.

Thanks,

Sunny

Hi Samid,

I guess there is no such option in java stack which is equivalent to al11 in the abap stack.

You have to check them in the profile files itself. The value of your dir_global will always be \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global

Abhishek

Hi Samid,

Please check out the following settings:

  1. Check out whether the port 50000 (5$$00) is correct.
  2. Check whether the java engine is running properly.
  3. Check out the ICM filter file.
  4. Check out internet explorer settings (For a moment reduce the security level of the IE and check).
  5. Also check out the instance profile for ports.
  6. Also try to access NWA from different system (Last option).

Abhishek

Hi,

Please maintain host name entry in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host" files.
