SNP Planned Order Date Issue

Former Member

Hi All,

Planned order created by SNP run (Heuristic) always has start and end date same.

The same planned order when hit the ECC, it get rescheduled and has different start and end date.

Example:

Planned Order           Start Date                    End Date

     In APO                    31/10/2013               31/10/2013

     In ECC                    29/10/2013               31/10/2013

In PDS, activity duration (fixed) is 1 day and I believe it could be the reason.

ECC, calculates the correct duration (Actual Order Quantity*Standard Activity Hours in Recipe / Base Quantity) and schedules the order.

How the activity duration (fixed) figure populates in PDS?

Please provide the info what could be the reason for SNP planned order have always similar start and end date.

Let me know if required any information to undersatnd the facts.

Regards,

Deepak

Hi Deepak,

SNP explosion will only respect the bucket consumption (variable or fixed). Please check whether you have the bucket consumption set in your PDS. Bucket consumption will not be filled automatically during PPDS -> SNP PDS conversion. You have to take care of it in a BADI. (Sample code in note 853241).

Hi Deeapk,

You have already checked the non relevance of the notes.

Just wanted to point out that some notes do require specifc SP even in version 7.0 of SCM.

For example for  OSS note 1462965 correction is delivered in Service Pack 7 of version 7.0.

Please ignore if you have already checked this aspect.

Hello Deepak,

We have the similar issue and wanted to check if you managed to resolve the issue?  How?

Why is everyone confusing the issue.

ECC will use the same basic start date as APO.

The only exception is that ECC will schedule the dates using the Factory Calendar.

If you have a factory calendar that is valid 7 days a week, do the dates match?

Hi Deepak,

If you are generating SNP PDS through SAP ECC CIF transfer, then there are chances of the variable bucket capacity consumption of a SNP PDS being calculated wrongly depending up on the version of your SCM environment.

Please check following OSS notes for applicability.

  •     1462965 - CIF-PDS: variable bucket consumption capacity has value "0"

  • 1327805 - CIF-PDS: wrong mode duration calculation

  • 1112571 - SNP PDS explosion: Incorrect variable bucket consumption

  • 905463 - SNP: Incorrect capacity consumption

Hope these note give some insight to you.

Hello Datta,

I have checked the OSS notes you suggetsed, unfortunately those are not relevant to us, the environment we are in is package 700 and are taken care.

Dear Deepak,

This is a standard behavior while creating a SNP PDS.

Suppose you have only one operation in the Recipe with a machine duration of 21 hours for a base quantity of 100. Lets assume that the resource on which this operation is carried out is available for 24 hours.

When this PV is CIFFed to APO to create a SNP PDS, it does a rough calculation on the the basis of base quantity. In this example it will be calculated as 1 day (it is always Fixed). Even if the planned order is created for 120 units/150 units the duration will be 1 day fixed.

You may test this behavior by reducing the availability time of resource and could see that the duration changes to 2/3 days Fixed.

Thanks Chandra for the reply.

Does it mean that every SNP planned order created have same start and end date in APO; no matter what the quantity is and operation time is? And the same order get scheduled properly in ECC with different end and start dates.
