Planned Order without PDS

Hello Gurus,

                       I want to generate planned order without PDS . So what i am thinking is send the toplevel product with inhouse production (without any PDS) . So when i run CTM/Heuristics will it generate planned orders still .

If yes What is the need of PDS .

Hello Nick,

You are right. Heuristics creates Planned orders without a Source of Supply when a SNP PDS does not exist. A PDS will have BOM information, Recipe & Resource.

So this Planned order will not generate Dependent demand on the Component, No resource loading.

Not sure if I understood correctly your doubt.

Well, it seems CTM or heuristic will create the planned orders without PDS for the header product. The need of the PDS would be to plan the components if existent, and to create a source for them.
