how to stop SAP virsa - SOD sending automatic outlook email?

Hi all,

Need help. When I run compliance report for a user in Virsa it gives me a list of existing conflicts. When I click on a particular conflict and mitigate it against a risk ID it is sending a notification to the approver for this activity. How to stop SAP from sending this notification to outlook? There are going to be a lot emails if every time a notification is sent when a risk is mitigated.

Dear Pooja,

Follow these steps:

1. Configuration tab

2. Additional options

3. Set "Send e-mail notification to the monitor of the updated mitigated object" to "NO"

Let me know if setting this parameter stops the e-mails.

Thank you,

Fernando

Hello Fernando,

Thanks for the reply.

On which screen in SAP do I find configuration tab? I am unable to see that tab in either of below screens.

Hello Pooja,

Sorry. I did not ask you about the version you were using. It seems by the interface provided in the screenshots that the version being used is 4.0. Am I correct?

Check the Alerts section to check the mitigation alerts being sent through e-mail.

Thank you,

Fernando

Hello Fernando,

Version I am using is 7200.3.15.1077.

Is it possible "configuration tab" option is not in this version?

I checked the "alerts" section. It gives me a log of all the activities but does not give an option to set a parameter to "No" so as to stop it from sending emails.

Thanks

Pooja

Sorry Pooja,

I did not explain correctly. That's what Prasant explained in his reply. Go to e-mail configuration and let me know if your e-mail address is there.

thank you,

Fernando

Hello Prashant / Fernando,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried going to Compliance Calibrator Alert cockpit -> email configuration. I my email ID is not present there.

Also, it does not give an option to change the setting globally for all users / records.

Hi Pooja,

"How to stop SAP from sending this notification to outlook?"

You need to remove that entry which contains the Risk ID and if you want to disable the Email notification for all Risk Ids, then you need to remove all entries over there.

Hey Rama,

nice to see you buddy. thats a lengthy process.

maintain settings to NO is easy, wont generate email or stop BG jobs to sending email.

is easier one.

Hi Prasant,

Nice to see you..

I agree with you (for GRC 10.0).

But

In Virsa 4.0 there is no option to change the setting to "NO"

cancel this job /VIRSA/ALERTGEN

try it.

bcoz for mitigation alert >

>Go to Alerts

>Email Configuration

>Enter Mitigating Control ID, email address, and user.

>Save

This is how you configure.

eithe remove from here or stop the job.

Hello everyone,

I really appreciate your responses. Well the problem is there are 5000+ records having risks and involving multiple users. It wont be possible to to enter entering all of those to"alert" section. So every time I mitigate a risk it will send an email to the monitor. Right now i do not see any entry in this -

I guess there is no solution for this in the SAP version I am using ?

And what is virsa 4.0 exactly?

I am using SAP version 7200.3.15.1077. How does that relate to virsa version exactly?

Hi Pooja,

You can cancel it in SM37. If you are not sure, take the help of a Basis consultant.
