Acknowledgment of Achievement e-mails are no longer sent, as per this recent thread and others on the same:

The reputation system has been overhauled and now members have a more robust and detailed reputation inventory including badges and space specific expertise. See The New SCN: What's in it For Your Reputation

he probably meant searching in SCN, which should be done before posting to make sure the question is unique
