Early setup of New Hires

Hello Everyone,

We are looking to process a new hires from HCM into SAP IdM a few days earlier then their designated start date (rather than on the day).

We do not want to affect HCM transfers or terminations with above change – only new hires. This is to allow AD account to be set-up in advance of person starting so that other IT activities can be completed.

Any easy way to achieve this in LDAP extract, or in VDS or in HCM to IdM pass?

Just want to find out if anyone has implemented this kind of solution. What are the ways of achieving this?

Hi Velpula,

I have done this before but always as a full run or with Delta Download.

Use Variants with the RPLDAP_EXTRACT_IDM report to process new hires only as Delta Download will also process other profile changes.

What script are you using in SAP HCM Staging for MSKEYVALUE?

If you use sap_getSysUname ensure you enable future hires as described in the note above.

If you use VALIDFROM and VALIDTO on attributes, and validto is a future date some or all attributes may not be visible in the UI. In case you want to process a user assignment to AD, I would suggest to create a default role and assign this role to the user with current date instead of the real start date.
