Add device type problem

If this is the wrong forum to post this question please direct me to the proper forum.

I have gone through the steps to add a device type via SPAD and a transport was created so I thought I had done it properly.  However; when I choose the printer from the dropdown when running the wizard I get the message "HP4730   (not exist on the system)"  Anyone have an idea of what I failed to do to cause it it exist?

Hi Andrew

Did you perform the following steps.

1. Check the following note to ensure the printer you want is supported, it maybe that the printer you want uses a different device type.

Note 1135055 - Printer Vendor Wizard Note: HP

2. Download and unzip the required device type from the note.

3. Goto SPAD > Utilities > For Output Devices > Import Devices

4. select the device type file you unzipped earlier from the frontend or server

5. make sure the import option is set and the import option for unicode or non.

6.execute

You should then be able to assign to transport and process as normal.

Thanks Mark; the note you posted helped me to see my error.  From it I see there are two HP4730 printers.  One uses device type HPLJCM1 which I downloaded but the one I should have downloaded was HP4730.  In hindsight this is now obvious.
