Hi Guys ,
I am new to SAP Basis , could any one help me in which scenarios do we decide to perform a rolling restart in SAP and also the steps to perform the Roling restart in SAP.
I believe this is when you have logon groups, the rolling reboots take place for a server that has been removed from the logon groups for a period of time and then the host level is restarted, and then added back to the logon group.
@Rahul, review your buffers in the system and adjust them to have 95% or greater hit ratios; after my team did this we haven't had to do rolling restarts on systems anymore. If you need help with adjusting the buffers to the correct values, contact your SAP rep and ask for a performance CQC of that system and SAP will recommend values for you to try in the system.

Hi,
What is Rolling Restart? And that too in SAP? Are you sure?
Did you imply rolling kernel switch?

Hi,
What do you mean a 'rolling restart'? I've never heard of this term (and I've been doing this a few years).
Thanks
Graham
