Advantages and disadvantages ADD ON AII in ECC

Hi Experts,

I have a stage ADD ON AII in ECC, Can you tell me Which are the advantages or disadvantages of this scenario?

For example, the use of IDocs, rfcs, etc..

Somebody, Could you pass me some documentation about it?

Hi Raul ,

Having SAP AII as Add on in ECC there will following advantages and disadvantages :

Advantages :

least integration effort and interfaces due to direct call and access to AII services uisng RFCs

Disadvantages:

Not a good option when serial IDs volume is huge . For example , AII is used for serializing products (SKUs) then volume will be huge based on production.

But if this scenario is used only for returnable items , whose volume do not increase frequently then it is a good option
