HI,
I am able to store employee photo through OAAD but that photo is not showing in portal.
I have refer the note 595563 and 685521 to create repository. In the repository i have maintain
Rep: Zx
Doc area: Archivelink
Storage type: SAP system database
Rep. Sub type: Normal
Version no: 0046
Content Table: SDOKCONT1
Basic path: left blank
Archive path: Left blank
with this details photos are getting uploaded but same photo is not appearing in portal. why this is happening?
One more doubt is with this details in repository where will the photos saved, in SAP database or content server?
Hi Atul,
Whenever you have to stored any documents in SAP using SAP Archivelink or SAP DMS functionality you should store in SAP Content Server which is seperate Hardware Box which is connected to SAP By HTTP Link. You should not store it in SAP Database as it will eat you server space fast as document have large sixe compared to text and tables.
Secondly you want to view document stored in SAP Via Archivelink through SAP Portal as frontend.
Please get in touch with Portal guy who can guide what can be done on this solution. Check whether standards Soultion packs are available for this solution.

Hi Atul,
Carry out following customizing in SPRO
1. OAC0- Create Content repository like "ZH"
2. SAP NetWeaver>Application Server>Basis Services>ArchiveLink>Basic Customizing>Edit Document Classes. Use standard configuration. If you want to intoduce new application then only do this config.
3. SAP NetWeaver>Application Server>Basis Services>ArchiveLink>Basic Customizing>Edit Document Types. Create DOcument Type "ZHRAPPIC" (OAC2)
4. SAP NetWeaver>Application Server>Basis Services>ArchiveLink>Basic Customizing>Edit Links
(OAC3).
In this customizing activity, you link a document type to an object type (PREL), a content repository(ZH)and a link table(TOAHR). This has the following effect on documents of this document type:The documents can only be linked to instances of the specified business object type. The link entry is entered in the specified link table. The documents are always stored in the specified content repository.
5. SAP NetWeaver>Application Server>Basis Services>ArchiveLink>Customizing Incoming Documents>Workflow Scenarios>Assign Document Type to a Workflow(SOA0)
In this customizing activity, you specify document types as workflow document
types. You need to carry out this step for all document types that are used in
storage scenarios with integration of SAP Business Workflow
6. SAP NetWeaver>Application Server>Basis Services>ArchiveLink>Customizing Incoming Documents>Workflow Scenarios>Maintain Presettings for Storage Scenarios(OAWS)
In this IMG activity, you assign a document type to a document type group, and
create the document group if necessary. You then determine the responsible
agents for the work item, and select the storage scenarios you want to use
WHile trying out configurations always refer to configuration available in IDES server. They will help you to understand how SAP configured it.

Hi Atul,
Data stored in content repository using ArchiveLink or DMS are binary contents so, In case you want to render data stored in Archivelink/DMS you must do binary to xtring (use standard FM) conversion and then render in your portal app.

1. With this details the photo will get store in SAP database means at the table level itself.
2. You cannot get the uploaded photo in portal via OAAD, since there is no configuration exists between portal data and the uploaded image.
You have to upload photos in portal which can be stored in sap and can see the same later at portal level too.For this first you need to configure the portal settings to enable the attachment link.
