Screen Personas: Session Not Found

Former Member

Hi,

I''m configuring SAP Personas 1.0 SP02 in my Solution Manager 7.1 SR1, kernel 7.21_EXT level 100.

All's been according to official Configuration Guide.

Now there's part that tell me to test the restgui service, by copying session number to the url.

The browser always give me this big message:

Session not found

I'm using Chrome, IE, Mozilla, so no cookie / client issue.

Anyone?

Hi Bobby,

Could you please explain step by step how you tested the restgui service i.e. what do you enter as url in the browser, what value are you copying and what is the 2nd url you are using for the test.

Cheers,
Tobias.

Hi,

I've been configuring up to 3.1.4 Test RestGUI service as per guide.

So here's the quote:

3.1.4 Test RestGUI Service

1. Point your browser to the (actual URL for restgui service) followed by /newsession?sap-

client=<client id>.

2. Copy the session ID returned to you.

3. Point your browser to the following address: (actual URL for restgui service) followed by

/state/text add the session ID obtained above in brackets to the /sap/ part of the url.

Note: The URL should look similar to the one given below:

https://DOMAINNAME:PORT/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhcGFlcjhkYl9FUjhfNTMlM2FteUFKZWVvWElOS

3pjX09GcUtVeUxEN2tRUnBIc1drajZ2UHJ0MWxsLUFUVA=)/restgui/state/text

If everything works as expected, you should see a control tree in text notation.

Now, point 2 has given me the session ID.

Then I paste the ID to the new URL, like this:

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000/sap(SESSION_ID#)/restgui/state/text

I also tried:

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000/sap(SESSION_ID#)/restgui?sap-client=001/state/text

SPS08 have also been applied, only to find same error.

Please have a look at your restgui service in SICF.

First please make sure that you are using the following service parameters (Service data --> GUI configuration):

Second, please make sure that you are using the correct ITS handler: CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS_BASIC

Cheers,

Tobias.

Independent of the configuration problems, I would strongly recommend to apply the newest kernel patch. Yours (PL100) is roughly 6 months old.

Tobias.

Hi,

It's not configuration issue. It's all according to notes and document, and yes, I've configured above.

No newer 721_EXT patch since march. Latest is PL100.

Hi Bobby,

Please check how much memory is allocated to your ITS - use transaction SITSPMON. If you configuration is correct, then the only other issue that I know that could cause such a behavior is a memory issue.

Cheers,

Tobias.

PS: please check the version of the disp+work component of the kernel. It should be higher than 130.

Hi Tobias,

Here's the SITSPMON detail:

I've tried to update to 136 and still same error.

Hi Bobby,

Please increase the amount of memory allocated for your ITS. Currently, it has only 96MB which is not sufficient. I would recommend nothing less than 512mb.

I don't have a configuration guide handy right now but I am pretty sure it is described in there how to do it.

Cheers,

Tobias.

Hi,

Still error in this one.

I've tried 512MB.

Ok, this does not sound like an Personas error. I think your browser is confused with your user certificate and some other user. Could you please try if you get the standard WebGUI (SAP GUI for HTML) running?

Cheers,
Tobias.

So I go straight to access the personas main GUI:

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/

which gives me this url:

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html?sap-system-login-b...

Notice the different session ID in the bracket with my previous error (it's shorter).

SAP bug?

Now, I try the role permission value of: 29.360.127 and 4, and accessing the personas url again.

The browser will loop through these pages (until all global memories are used up!!!):

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Rendering

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Systems

http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Home

and gives me this window:

"The session has timed out for your own safety - please log in again"

I also checked notes 1867074 - Personas UI issues fixes: Latest XAP file and can't download the file because the link has expired.

I think it's not the browser, because I also tried to browse from server directly.

Hi Bobby,

After you launch Personas and you see "session has timed out.......",

goto SM04 and check the sessions. If you see MANY sessions over there of type "Plugin HTTP",

as Tobias mentioned above, you need to upgrade your kernel patch.

I have seen this behavior before and it was rectified after upgrade.

Currently SMP is having kernel patch 136.

Secondly, if you are SP01, implement note 1890693

IF you are on SP02, implement note 1916117.

The above notes will give you latest xap file.

For increasing ITS size, you would need to increase “em/global_area_MB” parameter.

Hi Sunshant,

The error is still the same even after applying that note.

Indeed there's many plugin http user, but I'm already using kernel 136.

Hi Bobby,

Well at this point I can recommend you to open OSS message then.

Please provide WTS access so that we can access both personas url as well as your system.

Sushant

Anything that you suggest me to check?

It's not possible to open message.

Personas is working now. It seems in Basis 7.02 you should deactivate reauthentication.

Hi Vasudevan,

This topic is answered.

I'll try to help.
