Hi,
I''m configuring SAP Personas 1.0 SP02 in my Solution Manager 7.1 SR1, kernel 7.21_EXT level 100.
All's been according to official Configuration Guide.
Now there's part that tell me to test the restgui service, by copying session number to the url.
The browser always give me this big message:
I'm using Chrome, IE, Mozilla, so no cookie / client issue.
Anyone?
Regards,
Hi Bobby,
Could you please explain step by step how you tested the restgui service i.e. what do you enter as url in the browser, what value are you copying and what is the 2nd url you are using for the test.
Cheers,
Tobias.

Hi,
I've been configuring up to 3.1.4 Test RestGUI service as per guide.
So here's the quote:
3.1.4 Test RestGUI Service
1. Point your browser to the (actual URL for restgui service) followed by /newsession?sap-
client=<client id>.
2. Copy the session ID returned to you.
3. Point your browser to the following address: (actual URL for restgui service) followed by
/state/text add the session ID obtained above in brackets to the /sap/ part of the url.
Note: The URL should look similar to the one given below:
https://DOMAINNAME:PORT/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhcGFlcjhkYl9FUjhfNTMlM2FteUFKZWVvWElOS
3pjX09GcUtVeUxEN2tRUnBIc1drajZ2UHJ0MWxsLUFUVA=)/restgui/state/text
If everything works as expected, you should see a control tree in text notation.
Now, point 2 has given me the session ID.
Then I paste the ID to the new URL, like this:
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000/sap(SESSION_ID#)/restgui/state/text
I also tried:
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000/sap(SESSION_ID#)/restgui?sap-client=001/state/text
SPS08 have also been applied, only to find same error.

Hi Bobby,
Please check how much memory is allocated to your ITS - use transaction SITSPMON. If you configuration is correct, then the only other issue that I know that could cause such a behavior is a memory issue.
Cheers,
Tobias.
PS: please check the version of the disp+work component of the kernel. It should be higher than 130.
Hi,
Still error in this one.
I've tried 512MB.
dev_icm log is:
[Thr 140160339445504] *** ERROR => DpExtractContextId: bad w3c context id >SID:ANON:sapsmtown_SOM_00:00:Fyy7k8c8rIa48M06WP5lmOnqrvka8hHOvYVTBekf-< (len=67/41) [dpxxic.c 306]
dev_w<n> is:
H ***ERROR => HTTP> ab_HttpRequestHandler: SSO cookie not found or user mismatch. [abhttpio.c 2417] [icftrace.c 597]
So I go straight to access the personas main GUI:
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/
which gives me this url:
Notice the different session ID in the bracket with my previous error (it's shorter).
SAP bug?
Now, I try the role permission value of: 29.360.127 and 4, and accessing the personas url again.
The browser will loop through these pages (until all global memories are used up!!!):
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Rendering
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Systems
http://sapsmtown.snsd:8000//sap/bc/bsp/persos/mainapp/index.html#Home
and gives me this window:
"The session has timed out for your own safety - please log in again"
I also checked notes 1867074 - Personas UI issues fixes: Latest XAP file and can't download the file because the link has expired.
Hi Bobby,
After you launch Personas and you see "session has timed out.......",
goto SM04 and check the sessions. If you see MANY sessions over there of type "Plugin HTTP",
as Tobias mentioned above, you need to upgrade your kernel patch.
I have seen this behavior before and it was rectified after upgrade.
Currently SMP is having kernel patch 136.
Secondly, if you are SP01, implement note 1890693
IF you are on SP02, implement note 1916117.
The above notes will give you latest xap file.
For increasing ITS size, you would need to increase “em/global_area_MB” parameter.

Sushant
