material replacement

hi ,

Customer has a requirement for material X .

which is not available at our stock .

In our stock ,material Y is available so,we will do extra modification on material Y ,& at the same time we will deliver the material X to the customer .

customer will not have any information about this internal work .

How to map this in system .

Hi

Use material determination for this. You must be maintaining customer material info record. Material X and Y are for your company. For your customer it will be ABC. Maintain customer material info record with customer material number. Print this material number in invoice and use material determination for replacing Y with X. This is one way to achieve this.

Could you please tell how your customer has been informed with material number? Are you guys printing your SAP material code and its description on your delivery note or invoice? Which document you send your customer? Elborate your sales process so that we may understand it better.

Hi MoazzaM,

we will provide the bill to customer as normal sales .

the diffrence is wont let the customer know about our work ,that we have replaced the material .

They will be provided the bill with the material ,which they asked for .

customer material information (we cant use ,as we dont want to let customer know that we have replaced with some extra work)

material determination - our worked material or replaced material is A & customer has asked for B .

we are actualy delivering the A but customer knows that materail B has been delivered to them for which they actualy placed the order.,

Hi

Then this is not in SD process. What you can do is material to material transfer. I dont remember the movement type but you can check in google or with your MM guy and transfer material B to material A and then process the order. What are the differences between both materials? Are these with same cost prices or different? What kind of work you will do on material which customer asked for and you don't have that? In SD you have material determination or customer material which you can't do then go for material to material transfer if there is no huge difference of cost prices.

there is no requirement for cost mapping .

material to material transfer is an option but it would be the last choice.

In SD there is nothing but material determination and customer material info ecord which you can't go for. Wait and see if some other expert comment on this but in my opinion material to material transfer is only option left for you
