Wrong serial numbers in stock

Dear forum

We have a situation where the stock level of a material is 5 in SAP, and when we carry out our physical inventory process we find 5 as well.
So far so good.

But the material is serial number managed, and the serial numbers do not match up.

For example:

System says we have the following serial numbers in stock (MMBE): 123, 124, 125, 126, 127
When performing physical count we find: 123, 124, 125, 128, 129

How do we "change"/replace the serial numbers on the materials in stock, with correct numbers? What would be the easiest way to do this?

The material is located in a warehouse management supported storage location.

BR,
OT

Dear forum,

what if I am facing this situation on an active count. So I have a physical inventory document in place where I want to enter the quantity and then the serial numbers are not matching.

Would it be possible to delete incorrect ones and replace by correct ones?

What if that happened on a stock count. So if I have a physical inventory document in place and need to adjust the serial number.

Could the incorrect ones be removed and replace by correct ones within the phys inv doc?

Hi

Tcode: IQ02, input material and serial number then

go to Edit- spl serial number functions -change serial number.

This way you can change existing to number to another.

Hope this resolves your issue.

Krishna.
