Cluster environment (Active-Active and Active-Passive).

Hi All,

  We are planing to install the production system in the cluster environment. Can you please suggest us which is the best one i.e. Active-Active or Active-Passive.?

And Please let us know the merits and demerits of these two strategies.which one is recommended by SAP.

System Environment: ECC6.0, AIX7.1, Oracle 11g.

Hello,

I would always prefer active-active configuration. Because in active-active configuration, you can use 2nd node to do load balancing while in case of active-passive, you will not be able to utilize resources of 2nd node unless and until there is a failover.
