SAP NW 7.4 and SAP PI 7.4

Hello ,

Is SAP PI 7.4 released? If so what are the installation options -- meaning Single stack / dual stack / PO?

Another thing --  Which Pi versions does SAP Netweaver 7.4 support. Our client is on SAP NW7.3 and SAP Pi 7.30 single stack. They are planning to upgrade to SAP NW 7.4 --  does this mean that PI also needs to be upgraded?

Not mandatory.  At the same time , there is no big difference between 7.3 and 7.4.  So even if you go to the latest version there wont be impact.

A general recommendation, better to move towards latest version..

Hello Himadri,

Technically, PI 7.4 is a part of SAP NetWeaver 7.4 that was released in May this year - so yes, PI 7.4 is now in unrestricted shipment.

Installation options of PI 7.4 are currently the same as for PI 7.31 - namely:

• Dual-stack - that is, ABAP + Java.
• AEX (Advanced Adapter Engine Extended) - that is, Java-only.
• PO (Process Orchestration) - that is, Java-only.

Hi Himadri,

What system does your customer upgrade to release 7.4? If the upgrade is of the installation of PI and the target release of the upgrade is NetWeaver 7.4, then this means upgrade of PI to release 7.4. Or is it some other, non-PI system that is upgraded?

Does SAP offer PI 7.3 and PI 7.3 Dual stack to new customers or it is only offered to existing customers that are upgrading from previous versions of PI?
