Nikhil,
As indicated by members, free goods functionality does not work for Quotations

Dear T.W. Sir,
I have one question in my mind related to Free Goods which i faced some time back. Please assist me in this. I have one material say M1. When customer is buying 1 Qty of this material Company wants to give 2 Qty of material M2 and 1 Qty of Material M3. it means there are three different materials and it is a scenario of Exclusive free goods. As i know at a time we can give only one type of different goods. Can we configure this in standard SAP.
Thanks.
Regards,
Nikhil
Nikhil,
Yes, that is one of the constraints listed in the SAP help (link provided above).
SAP literature -
Constraints
Free goods is currently only supported on a 1:1 basis. This means that an
order item can only be the source of one free goods item. This means that
agreements involving relationships such as 'Buy material 1 and get material 2
and material 3 free of charge' or 'Order material 1 and material 2 together and
get material 3 free of charge' are not supported.
For your scenario, one can use the BOM functionality.
Main item = M1, 1 qty
Sub items = M2, 2qty and M3, 1qty
The structure of the BOM can be created in CS01.
Only pricing is done at the main item. The sub items are not relevant for prices. That means the sub items are free.
Note - If the proportion or main/sub item materials constantly change then it would be difficult to use BOM functionality.
If you search in the internet you would get many examples of this type of requirement.
Nikhil,
Pleae read Sri nath's post (has an example) -
http://scn.sap.com/thread/1186591
In the quotation, suppose user manually gives two lines;
first line with item category AGN
second line with item category AGNN
Could this not be converted in to a sales order with item categories TAN and TANN?
In this case, the order is created without entering the line items again.
But the Free goods determination functionality is not used "per-se".
The above line has explanation about the business scenario related to AGNN.

Hello Nikhil,
In the standard sap system, If the sales document category is not 'C' then free goods will not work.
For Free goods, it is hard coded that free goods determination will occur only for sales document category C.
Also refer note 549505 , point 4.
