Dear SAP Experts,
am planning to upgrade our ECC 6.0 System from
Windows Server 2003 X32
MS SQL 2005
Non Unicode
to
Windows Server 2008
MS SQL 2013
non Unicode
in the next month. I will do it with a System Copy (Backup & Restore). At the moment i make first tests with a sandbox server. The System Copy stops at phase "Post Load activities"

Any Idea what i can try?

Hi Experts,
thanks a lot for the answers.
1. I tried 'schema repair script' as per note 1294762. Restarted the macine and continued the installation --> No effect
2. There is no Directory "D:\usr\sap\\D00\" I created it, restarted the macine and continued the installation
--> No effect
3. The installation is EHP0. Basic Patchlevel SAPKB70028
4. It is a domain installation SIDadm and SAPServiceSID are local Administrators. I tried the installation with SIDadm and Domain Administrator user.

Ok, this is odd, if you are doing a System Copy then this should be a Central Instance, so path should be something like D:\usr\sap\DVEBMSG00... Are you using the right installation master /SWPM?
For the R3trans issue, read
SAP Note 734034 - Native OLEDB provider SQLNCLI
Regards,
Juan
I am using this Master:
--> 51043738_2 NW 7.0 SR3 Inst.Mast WIN Svr x86 64 bit-BR MSS 2012
Option:
SAP ERP 6.0 Support Release 3 > Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > MS SQL Server > Target System Installation > Central System > Based on AS ABAP > Central System
The path of the Installation is D:\usr\sap\XX11\SYS
I read note 734034 . So i deleted enviroment variable MSSQL_FORCEOLEDB because i am using SQL 2012.
SQL Server Native Client 2012 is already installed.
Try using SWPM instead,
This is a good guide written by Akshay Gupta

Hi,
As you have used db backup restore method, have you used the VB Script attached in the sap note 1294762 as it refers to the Schema repair and schema move scripts.
The zip file Schema4SAP.zip is attached to this note.
Also please find the below link as it contains all the imp. notes on sql server:-

Himanshu

Which version are you running for ECC6? (i.e. EHP1/2/3/4 ...)
Look at note 1651862 which talks about minimum SP Levels

Hi,
Can you please check whether log directory exists in D:\usr\sap\\D00\ location?
If not, try to create and retry the sapinst...
I believe you are using either user with local administrator access. if not, try to do that.
Thanks and Regards,
Vimal

Hi Klaus,
Can you run the 'schema repair script' as per note 1294762? You must be logged on as domain administrator.
After that, check if it works. If so, restart sapinst (again with domain administrator user) and retry the current step.
Hope it helps.

Hugo

Hi Klaus,
Please post the contents of
C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ERP\LM\COPY\MSS\SYSTEM\CENTRAL\AS-ABAP\dipgntab.log
as it could give further clues as to the cause of the error.

Paul
