Cannot implement patches

Hello guys,

I cannot implement patches. When I try to implement them, my status of implementation getting stuck at "MOVE NAMETABS". I tried to restart my server, checked TP_DOMAIN file, everything looks fine.

I contacted SAP, they say that there is "#" symbol in services file (I use Windows Server 2008 R2) between sapmsSID and 3600/tcp, but when I checked everything looks fine. There is no such symbol.

In the log I see, below suspicious lines

SAP message server service (new): 3900

SAP message server service (old): sapmsSID

How did the message server service entry changed from a sapmsSID to 3900? Is it not the port ?

I saw this log, but I could not figure out where should I check? I am new to SAP, can you please advise me

Hi ,

Goto Window server and check in  \Windows\System32\drivers\etc \ , open the services file and remove the # symbol mentioned by SAP.

But in my services file there is no such symbol. Otherwise I would remove it.

Hi ,

Search for sapmsSID and remove all entry and add new line in bottom of the file and save it

sapms<SID>  3600/tcp ( please dont put like sapmsSID, mention sapmsSMP ( SMP is system id))
