monitor xml import

Hello,

we use MDM 7.1 SP09 on Linux and import every weekend some updates of our catalogs. We copy the xml files to the belonging "Ready" folder and wait.

Is there a way to monitor the import of each xml file, e.g. duration, start/stop time, successful, exception?

Thanks

Hi Patrick,

If you want to have a log file for knowing duration, activity etc you can mount auxiliary server in Console and select relevant logs by selecting appropriate time period.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/49/bcad6ac9e359cce10000000a42189c/content.htm

Also you can goto installation folder and get the files

<System Drive>:]/usr/sap/<SID>/MDIS<instance number>/log

You can access FTP location and check the folder for Exceptions, logs,Archives etc.

This thread should serve you well in understanding logs in MDM -

It is worthwhile to mention here that using Import Manager you can solve  see the folders containing exceptions and Console also shows status of ports having exception.

Please feel free to come back with query(s).

Thanks,

Ravi

I know the logs but I'm looking for an automated way. The copy is made by a cronjob and I need a notification (e.g. mail) about start, stop and status (Archive, Exception etc).

Hi Patrick,

You can either set up OS scripts for this purpose or go for Solution manager monitoring. Both can provide email notifications.

Thanks,
