Hi Vinit,

we don't need sender HTTP and Idoc adapters (No sender agreement, Instead we will maintain some settings on sender system) , when we are sending messages from ECC to PI system because both HTTP &  IDOC adapters reside on ABAP stack.

If we are sending message from PI to ECC(ECC is Receiver here), we need receiver adapter (receiver agreement) for any adapter.

this would have been the case in the dual stack architecture since the adapters were ABAP based. From the java (AEX) version, you will need an adapter.

Now the reason was mainly the integrated native behaviour of Application system (ECC) with the Integration Engine (PI) and of a localized version of it running in conjunction with PI. Also mainly, it was a RFC destination pointing to the ABAP stack of PI (think of it more as a SAP to SAP communication using RFC)
