SM14 ; Servers

Hi,

Good day! We recently patched our kernel (SAP_BASIS 700 - level 353). After the patch, the server tab in SM14 does not display all of our application servers with the update work process. It lists only one of our application servers and we have no server groups configured in SM14. I scourged through the internet and SAP notes but didn't find anything related to this problem. The kernel patch could be the issue but was just wondering if anyone has seen a similar problem. Thanks for your time!

Regards,

Hello,

did you face the following error in dev trace?

M  *** ERROR => ThVBICheckEyes: vbserv begin eyecatcher (0) destroyed [t
hxxvb.c     3390]
M  *** ERROR => ThVBICheckEyes: vbserv begin eyecatcher (0) destroyed [t
hxxvb.c     3390]

if so SAP note 1782561 addresses the issue.
Currently,you are using the kernel 700 SP353,according to the note
1782561,this problem was introduced with patch level 352 and not
fixed by 700 kernel any longer,because the 700 kernel is not supported
any more.please review the note 1629598 for detail.

This problem was fixed by kernel 720 SP324.
Please check this note and apply the kernel 720 patch at least SP324,
This problem should be resolved.
Please review the note 1636252 for how to upgrade kernel to 720.

Best Regards,

Hi Yong Luo,

Thanks very much. As indicated in the note, the issue is with the kernel and the worst of all, the updates are now being handled only by one application server. As you rightly pointed, I did notice the eyecatcher errors in the dev_w* files and we have planned to upgrade to 720. Thanks for your time Yong Luo
