Do we need to close CIF queues during BOP

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We are doing CTM planning run and then taking a BOP run . During CTM run we are closing the queues and then taking BOP run and then opening the queues .

While Queues are closed we are planning to deactivate GATP check and ATP check will take place in APO . We are in SCM 7.0.

Please let me know if this is the correct approach.

Can we run BOP after opening the queues . What if some users are creating or changing sales orders during BOP run.

Regards,

NKS

Hello NKS,

Based on my understanding and past experience, This is how you should handle this one -

1. Close the CIF queues.

2. Run CTM

3. Open the CIF queues

4. Run the BOP

5. Make sure All CIF queues are processed.

It is important to have CIF queue open while running the BOP jobs, it has to pull information into APO from ECC;  and also push information from APO into ECC.

Basically, BOP consists of three steps: Filter out the orders based on predefined criteria, sort those sales documents, and schedule them. In order to execute these steps CIF plays major role in communication/data transfer.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you
