Client-specific configuration and Maintenance Programs

Hi all -

Other than Project Templates and config for Item Type to Project Templates  (incl DP : Phase),  are there other customizing activities that need to be performed via client maintenance? 

I ask this since,  (and I'm not sure if there was just some hiccup with this particular system), I've recently had to struggle with getting the above template configuration through the transport path.  Transport key entries were showing up as ' * '.

The solution for me was either SM30 or SPRO on an opened system/maintenance schedule  (not the best solution, I admit).

So, with that said, any other "gotchas" that you may be familiar with?  Just so the community's aware?

Also, any maintenance programs for any of these gotchas?
