Hi all,
I was just playing with BO Mobile on my ipad.
Trying to understand this Scenario. Please advise.
Installed BO 4.0 SP5 and able to connect to BO Mobile from my ipad sucessfully.( using server ipconfig or CMS name locally )
Is there a way to connect to BO Mobile from Ipad through a different network or 4g . Let's take an example
when went to some location or traveling. How can I access the BO Mobile ( BO is installed on my Server or PC @ home ).
Please advise , Do I need to config something??
HI RUC,
You will need a public conncetion IP address.
this IP address should be going through NAT to convert it to private address.
As you are on a highway and you access your iphone or ipad with your BO URL, but the URL will not be able to connect via your service provider to your home network
it needs a pathway.
At your home, you need to configure a public - private ip route. Sort of reverse proxy. This will allow your BO URL to be public. Anyone will be able to access it.
Once that is done, you can access it from anywhere

First you need to have a Public IP address
Then open the necessary ports on your network
Port forward these ports to your BI server.
Then you should be able to access your BI server outside

In that case you should start with basics :

From this blog, I tried few stuff to open ports.

Is there specific port number for Web Intelligence ??
For now I assigned 6405 , I don't know whether it works or not . My next thing is open ports at firewall.
1) HTTPS Support - Completed
2) Reverse Proxy Support :
Do I need to configure this ?? ( Because I see Note: Reverse proxy is supported only with Apache HTTP server.)
I am using trail version of BI edge on windows 2008 server.
3) DMZ and Firewall Support
Need to start.
