Inherited Language into iView

We have an MDM system with default English language and various other languages.  Consider our Regions lookup table.  For the most part, the other languages are inheriting the primary language value (red when viewed in Data Manager).  We use iViews to display front end to user.  When user logs into browser in English, regions show up fine.  When a user has their browser set to a non-English value, the regions do not display in the the iView.

If we manually force the value in the Data Manager to be black...for instance key the same English value into the French language field...it then shows up in the iView.

Shouldn't the red, inherited values be pulled into iView without doing something like this?  Is there config somewhere to make it work?

Thanks in advance!

Keith

Hi Keith,

I suspect you have not upgraded to SP 09 or SP 10, as this issue is addressed in that service pack.

Please go through this - http://scn.sap.com/community/mdm/blog/2012/08/26/benefit-now-from-support-package-9-for-sap-netweave...

Please refer to SAP Note - 1687317 and SAP MDM 7.1 SP 09 release note - 1628176.

Pasting excerpt from that blog "End-User / Web Component (Web Dynpro). Within Web Dynpro components the following can be controlled:

    • Language inheritance in Lookup fields: You can now display the language inheritance values in the Lookup that are in Web Dynpro."
