Automatic copying of Inspection results into the Batch characteristic

Dear,

I am trying to set up the automatic copying of Inspection results into the Batch characteristic (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/2d/350a19448c11d189420000e829fbbd/frameset.htm).

For that, I have created a Class (Class type 023) TEST with only one Characteristic WIDTH.

I have created a Material 123 and assigned Class TEST to it.

Now when I create a Master Inspection Characteristic WIDTH, I want to assign it to Class TEST.

I tried to do so via QS21/QS23: Environment > Classification / Classification-button.

When I then try to change the Class type (from 005 to 023), the following message pops up:

No assignments found for class type 005

Message no. CL509

My question is how can I make the assignment Batch characteristis - MIC?

Thanks in advance for any clues, meaningful ones will be rewarded for sure.

Kind regards,

Bart

Ok.. I swear I just answered this same question in the past week or so...

But here goes again.

This is the step you are attempting, (the one in the yellow).

You don't assign the MIC to the 023 class.

You link it with the class characteristic.

You do this when you first create the MIC in QS21.  (At least that is the easiest to do).

You link one MIC with exactly on general characteristic.  It has nothing to do with the class you create until later on.

Oh.. yeah.. it was answered in SAPFans.com  🙂

Hi Bart,

You need to link the MIC to class characteristics during creation and then proceed further.
