Material type authorization for Inspection lot

Hi Experts,

we want Material type authorization in QA32.

Means we have different Material type like raw material , spares, FG, SFG. This material  is inspected by seprate quality department person. we want to display only in each scope (FG- FG  quality person).

please guide in this matter.

Hello Avinash,

U can use material authorization functionality in QM to restrict user based upon material type but u need to create separate roles.

1. Create Authorization Groups for QM Master Data for each material type (path - Quality Management-->Environment-->Central Functions-->Authorization Management-->Define Authorization Groups and Digital Signature)

2. Add material typewise authorisation group in QM view of material master for ex. FGQM for fg material.

3. In role for ex. FG lot clearance , add fgqm authorisation group (in object q_material) and assign role to relevant user.

You can restrict authorization by work centers.

In the inspection plans, assign a work center to each operation.  You then give access to the work centers to the applicable users.

So you would have a work center of "REC_LAB" for incoming inspections in receiving lab, Maybe FINAL for Final finished goods inspections by the release laboratory.  Maybe PLANT for testing done by operator during production, etc..  Some places do it by LAB1, LAB2, LAB3.  Others by lab function or skill set:  WET, GC, HPLC, APP for Wet chemistry, Gas chromatography, High pressure Liquid Chromatography, and Application Testing Laboratory.

It all depends on how you want to design it. You would typically use QE51 to display the worklist for the different workcenters.

Material authorization as suggested above is also a good option and that value can be displayed in the QA32 work list whereas the work center cannot.

Creating multiple inspection types can also work for you as well.  But in essence, this is somewhat already done as 01 materials are usually 01 inspection types, finished goods are usually inspected by 04 lots.  So you can just set up security for these and it might meet most of your requirement.

Hi,

Consult Basis consultant for give authorization of material type & Inspection type. So that you can restrict user for other Material type. User ID is different for all.

If it does not support then create Z-inspection type against relevant inspection type.

Now assign this z-inspection type to subjected materials and ask basis consultant to provide the authorization for this z-inspection type to required users.
