Hello Experts,
We have Solman 7.1 on which we are configuring System Monitoring in Technical Monitoring. We have completed the roadmap steps in solman_setup transaction for adding an ABAP system monitoring. We are facing an issue that though the Alert Inbox shows the alerts on the system, the automated notification emails are not triggered. We have done the necessary configurations in
1) Configure Infrastructure -> Default Settings
2) Incidents and Notifications settings (Using Default templates)
3) Defined Scope for Alert Monitoring
4) Reporting
we had added few email IDs for receiving alert emails however, they are not generated.
Have we missed any configuration/activation task?
Kindly assist. Thanks!
Regards,
Maruthi
hi Maruthi,
Check the scot settings and also in sost to see if the mails are triggerd from the auto notification center of the System monitoring. One more thing, if you have changed any settings in any steps, you have run through the Define scope setup again in order for the mails to be triggered.
Thanks,
Karthik.

Hello Maruthi,
this is the old way I used to check this :
1.) in Transaction "RZ21>Topology>Agents for remote systems", for all
agents the status should be ONLINE and correct 'Responsible server'
should be reported (no <OTHER CEN>)
2.) in the transaction "RZ20>SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors>Selfmoni
ring CCMS Agents", the agent is 100% Available and if the latest
agent patch version is used 2008/3.
3.) there must be no error reported in the sapccm4x.log or sapccmsr.log
files which are stored in the agent working directory.
After this check the following points:
4.) Central auto-reaction method is assigned to an MTE-class in the
monitor segment of the satellite system for which and agent is
installed via the CEN system, transaction RZ21.
5.) create a new alert for one of the monitoring nodes on the satellite
system for which a Central Auto-reaction is assigned (Alert status
will be ACTION_REQUIRED
6.) the agent will send the alert information to the CEN system and
store this information in the table CSMCENTOOL and the agent will
trigger the event SAP_CSM_TRIGGER_CENSYS_DISPATCH
7.) the SAP_CSM_TRIGGER_CENSYS_DISPATCH event will start the background
job SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER
8.) the background job SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER will execute the
Central Auto reaction method on the CEN system and when this is
done successfully it will change the status of the alert to ACTIVE
and it will delete the entry in the table CSMCENTOOL.
9.) Check the Open Alerts in the transaction RZ20 on the CEN system:
RZ20>SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors>CCMS Selfmonitoring>Tooldisp
atching (central system)>Messages
Please also have a look at the following notes for this:
429265 CCMS monitor architecture: Central auto-reaction
939616 CCMS auto-reactions: Help with troubleshooting
How to check the emails have been sent ?
trans SCOT -> Utilities -> overview of sent orders
I hope it helps,
regards,
Javier

Hi Maruthi,
I think you are missing solman_btc with the required role sap_notif_admin and a backgroud job.
