Point PI to a different client

Hi PI Experts,

we have few clients on our Quality system, namely 100, 200, 300. PI scenarios are defined in a way that they use Q_300 system as a data client, but one or two are pointing to Q_200. how do we change this? where do we update the data client for PI.

Currently when we drop the file in the shared folder it's being picked up by PI but it dumps the file to the Q_200 client instead of Q300 - which we are looking to use for the testing.

Many thanks for your help.

Piotr

Czesc Piotr,

there are two ways to do this - a quick way and a nice way.

The nice way is to go to SLD and define a separate business system for your client. The client should be available on the technical system already. Then go import it into ID and copy and/or adjust your configuration for client 200. You should be able to switch then in the Receiver Determination to which client you send the file (you could also send it to both).

The quick way is to just change the target directory in the CC you're using at the moment.

The nice way is nice, because you leave the former config untouched and it is clear from the outside where you're sending your data. It is nicer to change the target system and not the folder name. It's good when you know you don't have any old settings in your CC you just forgot to revert. It's a little extra work, but I'd recommend it.

Jörg

Hi Piotr,

Please check receiver determination and replace Q200 by Q300 for the scenario. if required then check corresponding communication channel too.

I hope it will help you in some way.

Hi Piotr,

Is the file system for Q200 and Q300 on different SAN ?

I assume they should be on same SAN and the directories accessible from both the clients.

Please check with your Basis team on this.

cheers,

Ambrish

You need to change the receiver parameters to point to Q300. Suppose if the file is dumped as an IDOC in to your Q200, then the receiver IDOC channel has to be changed to point to Q300's RFC destination & port.
