Can any one please explain about EP And Solution manager configuration

Dear Basis Gurus,

Iam new to the Sap Basis Area , I have been attending interviews on Basis

The most common questions i have faced are:

1)How will you configure the EP after the installation and how will you support?

2)How will you install solution manager ,what are the post installation steps how can you keep all the systems to be available with sol manager?

Can any one pls send me some docs on this

Let's get a little more specific here. You can't recite documentation in an interview, but you can mention that it will assist you.

By using TCODE SMSY (system landscape) in Solution Manager, you configure the system under Systems > SAP Enterprise Portals, and under the column relevant, you check portal server.

Then you use the Wizard to assign it to a Logical Component.

Now you can monitor this system, by installing the agent and calling the monitoring information from Solution Manager, but this is still be designed by SAP and tools on the AS JAVA WEB will assit you better in monitoring. That is a whole other area.

If you are new to SAP and looking for a job, good luck, but I suggest you to install some products and practice these types of tasks, so your comfortable and gain experience.
