Hi Gurus,

My client has STD sizes Eg: 12*12  and so on for which the BOM exits....but they get lot of order of odd sizes say 10.5*11.5 for which the client has to maintained BOM every time, The requirement is when they get these odd size order they system should go take the next higher size or it should display the existing sizes in the doc & the user can select the required size displayed & how to maintained BOM for these odd sizes received . Thanks in advance Pramod K

Hi

Did you check this with Sales BOM and material determination? Maintain sales BOM and material determination in VB11. Test this and update your findings.

Hi,

yes tried with BOM, but here the relation will be maintained as 1:1, but the requirement is not WRT to this, but its with odd sizes which in not the same every time they receive, if the STD size say is 10'*10 they receive the odd orders of 8.5*9/9*10/9.25*9.75... so on, they say whenever they get  enter these odd size the system should take the std size which in this case would be 10*10, but they will make it as per order of the customer but charge the customer as per std size. your inputs please.

Thanks

Hi

You have to use both functionalities Simultaneously. Lets say material A is the material number for your 10*10 size and B is the material number for odd size 9*9 or whatever. Material ABC is for foam, DEF for cloth and GHI is for pillow and you want to sale the whole package. Create BOM for material A and B with taking compnents of ABC, DEF and GHI. Now you will be delivering sub items and billing main item. Maintain material determination for A and B. If user enters material A then ok, nothing will be happening there. If user enters material B then system will automatically convert B into A and sub items or compnents will remain same. If they are different then you can create BOM by using different materials.

In short you will be using Sales BOM and material determination both functionalities.

Thanks for your reply, then i should maintain all the  sizes available with them in mat. determination, the company has received 18k odd sizes orders last fiscal, so i need to maintain all these or is there any way out. If std. sizes is 10*10 say then the  odd sizes will  have "N" no. of combinations what need to be done your inputs please. As per you example its for A & B, but what for N of odd sizes for a STD. size.

Thanks

Hi

You have to go for materiam determination no matter how many odd sized the company has. If manual maintenance is not possible then you can create an upload via BDC and maintain material determination for every main item material only. I have tested this and its working fine and you will get exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks, let me try out with this option also, Wei had created a Z Tcode with the help of the abaper where in all the odd sizes are put in a single table along with the Std. Size & its uploaded,  whenever the user inserts the odd size the system picks up the Std. size as directed. Thanks for suggestion.

Hi Pramod,

Try material determination, where in A material will be replaced by Y. Test & revert.

Thanks

Hi Pramod,

Use Variant configuration which suits the requierements, maintain the class and characteristics for the materials and use the characteristcis for the sizes.

Pricing can also be done with respect to the sizes.
